We promise to listen when you need to talk, believe you, offer guidance when you are looking for answers and remind you of your strength when the road feels uncertain. We promise to care about more than just your birth plan. We care about your fears, your hopes, your comfort, your family, and the little details that make this experience uniquely yours. Whether we are supporting you through labor, settling into life with your new baby postpartum, or documenting the moments you’ll want to remember forever, we’ll show up with compassion, experience and our whole hearts.
How did we get here?
We want to give you a glimpse into the relationship behind My Doula Grand Rapids. Long before we worked together at births, shared stories with families or helped parents navigate the unknowns of birth and postpartum, we met in doula training. We were just two women with small kids, stepping into a world that would change the way we saw birth, family and the kind of support parents deserve. Over the years, our paths have continued to grow, shaped by the families we have served, the births we’ve witnessed, and the experiences that have made us better at what we do. We’ve learned that birth work is about so much more than showing up. It’s about building trust, making space for the unexpected and helping families feel supported in whatever their story looks like. Because birth has a funny way of bringing people together, Jessi’s oldest and my youngest share a name and were both born in the Texas Hill Country! Apparently we had more in common than just our love for all things birth and supporting families!
